Before Antietam

A 38 year old boatman from Albion, Erie County, he mustered into service in Company I, 111th Pennsylvania Infantry on 26 December 1861 at Lockport, PA.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was probably buried on the battlefield, then reinterred in the new National Cemetery (Lot A, Section 26, grave 80) in 1866 or 1867.
