Before Antietam
An 18 year old baker, he mustered into service as Private, Company H, 111th Pennsylvania Infantry on 18 December 1861. He was in action at Cedar Mountain, VA in August 1862.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
