He mustered into service as Corporal in Company D, 11th Pennsylvania Infantry on 24 September 1861.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in the right hand in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was treated at US Army hospitals in Frederick, MD in October and briefly in December 1862. He was captured at Peach Tree Creek, VA on 20 July 1864 with no further record.
