Before Antietam

A 28 year old carpenter in West Chester, he mustered into service as Sergeant, Company A, 124th Pennsylvania Infantry on 8 August 1862 and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant on 16 (or 26) August.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He died of wounds on 20 October 1862, place not given.
