Before Antietam

A 22 year old plasterer in Rome, Bradford County, he enlisted on 8 August 1862 in Towanda and mustered as Private, Company G, 50th Pennsylvania Infantry in September in Harrisburg. He was promoted to Corporal, date not given.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862 and initially buried on the field [map].

After the War

He was reinterred from his original burial to the National Cemetery in about 1867.
