He was a farmer in Habersham County, GA before the War. He enlisted in Company E, 16th Georgia Infantry on 24 July 1861.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in the right eye, resulting in loss of sight, in action on 14 September 1862 at Crampton's Gap.
The rest of the War
He probably served as a teamster after he lost his eye. Roll dated January 30, 1865, last on file, shows him absent without leave. No later record.
