On the Campaign
He was wounded in the arm and captured in action on 14 September 1862 at Crampton's Gap.
The rest of the War
Sent to Field Hospital at Burkittsville, MD in September 1862. Left arm amputated near shoulder joint in 1862. Sent from Baltimore, MD to Fortress Monroe, VA 11 October 1862. Received at Aiken's Landing, VA for exchange 13 October 1862. Discharged on account of loss of arm at Richmond, VA 14 October 1862.
