Before Antietam
In 1855 he was an 18 year old laborer living with his mother Polly, step-father Daniel Brown, a farmer, and sister Genet/Jennet at Lyndon in Cattaraugus County, NY. He enlisted on 14 October 1861 at Belvidere, to serve three years and mustered as a Musician in Company A, 89thh New York Infantry on 21 October. He was promoted Corporal, date not given.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
