Before Antietam
In 1860 he was a 20 year old merchant living in Edward Gaines' hotel in Winchester, Litchfield County, CT. He enlisted on 3 September 1861 and mustered as a Corporal in Company C, 8th Connecticut Infantry on 25 September. He was promoted to Sergeant on 1 March 1862.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
