Before Antietam

In 1860 he was a 22 year old laborer in Meriden, CT. He enlisted on 25 April 1861 and mustered as a Private in Rifle Company B, 3rd Connecticut Infantry on 14 May. He mustered out with them on 12 August. He enlisted again, on 18 September 1861, and mustered as a Private in Company K, 8th Connecticut Infantry on 23 September.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
