He was reported missing as of 7 September 1862.

The rest of the War

In the February 1863 Company muster roll he was listed as "supposed to be dead." The June 1863 roll says he was "left sick on the Potomac on 7 September 1862, not heard from since." In October: left near Leesburg Va 7 Sept 1862 ..." and similar reports to October 1864, the last record in his file.
