Enisted as Third Corporal, Company F, Third Inantry from the Laurens District on 14 April 1861 and mustered into Confederate Service at Columbia, SC on 6 June 1861.

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was appointed First Corporal on 1 October 1862. Wounded again, in action at Fredericksburg, VA and died 31 December 1862.
