On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg and "left in the hands of the enemy".

The rest of the War

He was back with his unit in December 1862, detailed to the Conscript office in SC in August 1863, and appointed Sergeant Major 19 December 1863. He was appointed Lieutenant and transferred to Company I between 31 December 1864 and 27 April 1865.
