He enlisted in Company K, Third Infantry on 1 July 1862 at Spartanburg.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
In hospitals until at least February 1863. Reported absent without leave in June, but in hospital as late as July 1863. Back on duty by 31 December 1863. On duty with Provost Guard in Columbia, SC by June 1864.
