Before Antietam
He enlisted in Company G, 7th Ohio Infantry on 25 April 1861, for three months, then reenlisted in the 3 year unit on 20 June 1861. He was appointed Corporal on 1 January 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in the hand in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
The rest of the War
He was killed in action at Dumphries, VA on 27 December 1862.
