He was discharged 31 December 1862 on a Surgeon's Certificate of Disability. He had been present in the following engagements: Bull Run, Va., July 18th, 1861; Manassas, Va., July 21st; Rappahannock Sta., Aug. 23rd, 1862; Manassas, Va., Aug. 29th, 1862.
