He was captured in action on 17 September 1862, possibly staying behind to tend the wounded.
The rest of the War
He was shown on the rolls in September and October 1862 as "Absent with Leave in Maryland." He was paroled at Fort McHenry, MD on 6 November 1862 and exchanged at Aiken's Landing, VA on the 10th.
