Before Antietam

He enlisted on 7 June 1861 in the 7th Infantry (3 years), Company D. He was sick at Sutton, VA while his unit fought at Cross Lanes in August 1861, but was otherwise with his Company in every action for the duration. He was wounded in the ankle at Cedar Mountain, VA on 9 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He was present for action at Antietam.

The rest of the War

He was discharged at the end of his term of service on 6 July 1864. He enlisted in Company D, 177th Ohio Infantry on 12 September 1864 and mustered out with them at Greensboro, NC on 24 June 1865.

After the War

He was an engineer.
