On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

Company rolls from January to June 1863 show him absent without leave. By August 1863 he was declared a deserter - "Wounded Sept. 17th, 1862, at battle of Sharpsburg. Received a sick furlough and has failed to report since for duty, supposed to be in New Orleans, La".
