Before Sharpsburg
He enlisted in Company H, 15th Louisiana Infantry on July 2nd, 1861 in New Orleans. He was promoted to 2nd Corporal on August 1st, 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
He was hospitalized at Winchester, VA but returned to his unit by November 1862. He was captured in action at Fredericksburg, VA on 3 May 1863 and sent to City Point, VA where he was exchanged by 10 May. He was killed in action at Gettysburg, PA in July 1863.
