Before Sharpsburg

He was a seaman living in New Orleans when he enlisted (probably as Sergeant) in Company H, 6th Louisiana Infantry on June 4th, 1861 at Camp Moore, LA. Resigned as Sergeant on Aug. 23rd, 1861 and detached to the Quartermaster's Department by Order No. 69. He was present with his Company into 1862 as Sergeant until he resigned that rank in July 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

Back with his Company on 12 April 1863 and promoted to Corporal on 1 May. By May 1864 he was Regimental Commissary (Sergeant). He was killed in action on 19 October 1864 at Cedar Creek, VA.
