He enlisted in Company H, 8th Louisiana Infantry on June 29th, 1861 in New Orleans. He was appointed Sergeant on 7 September 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
He was back with his Company by January 1863, but afterward on detached service to about August 1863. He was then present to at least December 1863. No later record.
