He enlisted in Company H, 8th Louisiana Infantry on March 8th, 1862 in Rapides Parish, LA.

On the Campaign

He was wounded (possibly mortally) and captured in action on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was admitted Sept. 26th, 1862, to the US Army General Hospital at Philadelphia, PA. He was released from the hospital Oct. 13th, 1862. On List (not dated) of Rebel Prisoners sent to Ft. Delaware, DE from Provost Barracks, Philadelphia, Pa. on Oct. 14th, 1862. His Company roll says her "went in fight at Sharpsburg and has never been seen since". It seems likely he died while a prisoner.
