Before Sharpsburg
He enlisted in Company D, 5th Louisiana Infantry on June 4th, 1861 at Camp Moore, LA. He was on the roll for September and October 1861, as in the "Guard House since 21st, on charge of Mutiny", but back with his Company in November.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
He died of wounds on 11 December 1862.
