Before Sharpsburg

A 21 year old laborer from Concordia Parish, he enlisted in Company F, 14th Louisiana Infantry on June 19th, 1861 in New Orleans. He was described as complexion dark, hair dark, eyes dark, height 6 ft.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was absent wounded, but returned by April 1863. He was listed as absent on detached service in a Louisiana Hospital then disabled and detailed to Richmond, VA, by December 1863. He was captured in a hospital in Richmond on 3 April 1865, held at Libby Prison, but transferred to Newport News, VA on 23 April. He was released on an Oath of Allegiance to the United States, from Newport News, VA on June 16th, 1865.
