On the Campaign

He was wounded in the knee in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg and captured.

The rest of the War

He was paroled at Ft. McHenry, MD and sent to Fortress Monroe, VA for exchange on 13 October 1862. He was absent on wounded furlough into at least February 1863, but present with his Company again in March. Surrendered at Appomattox, Virginia, April 9, 1865, then being 19 years old.
