On the Campaign
He was wounded in the shoulder and thigh in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
He was in General Hospital #10 in Richmond, VA in October, then was recovering in Staunton, VA into December 1862, but back with his Company in January 1863. Wounded again, in action at Gettysburg, PA on July 1, 1863. He was sick in Jackson Hospital, Richmond, in May 1864. Surrendered at Appomattox, VA on Apr. 9, 1865. He was listed there as 22 years old, 5 foot 10 inches tall, fair complected, with blue eyes and dark hair.
