Before Antietam
From Blair County, at age 18 he enlisted in Tyrone, PA on 28 July and he mustered as a Private in Company A, 125th Pennsylvania Infantry on 10 August 1862 in Harrisburg.
On the Campaign
He was reported missing in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
