Before Antietam
From Concord, he enlisted at age 30 in Company A, 5th New Hampshire Infantry on 28 September 1861 and mustered as Sergeant on 12 October.
On the Campaign
He was wounded severely in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
The rest of the War
He was discharged for disability on 9 March 1863 at Frederick, MD.
After the War
He was living in Nashua in 1893.
