Before Antietam
From Randolph, he enlisted at age 35 in Company B, 5th New Hampshire Infantry on 8 October 1861.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
The rest of the War
He transferred to Company A, 9th Regiment, Veteran Volunteer Corps (VRC) on 18 April 1864. He was discharged on 16 November 1865 in Washington, DC.
After the War
He was divorced from his wife Eliza A Burbank in Cumberland County, ME in January 1866.
