Before Antietam
From Lancaster, he enlisted at age 19 in Company B, 5th New Hampshire Infantry on 9 September 1861. He was wounded on 1 June 1862 at Fair Oaks, VA.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
The rest of the War
He reenlisted and mustered in on 19 February 1864, and mustered out of service on 28 June 1865.
After the War
He was living in Concord, VT in 1893.
