He was severely wounded in action on 17 September 1862, his 52nd birthday.

The rest of the War

He was discharged for disability at Falmouth, VA on 19 December 1862.

After the War

He was living in Effingham Falls, NH in 1893.

Basic information from Child1. Life dates from his gravesite on Findagrave. His son Noah Shaw (1841-1896) was also a member of Company H, from October 1861 to November 1862, and was wounded at Fair Oaks, VA on 1 June 1862.
