Before Antietam
From Wolfeborough, he enlisted giving his age as 18 (he was 15) in Company H, 5th New Hampshire Infantry on 21 October 1861.
On the Campaign
He was severely wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
The rest of the War
He was discharged for disability on 6 April 1863.
After the War
He was living in Wolfeborough in 1893.
