Before Antietam
From Shelburne, he enlisted at age 40 in Company B, 5th New Hampshire Infantry on 22 July 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
The rest of the War
He was wounded again, at Fredericksburg, VA on 13 December 1862, and died of his wounds on 15 December in Washington, DC.
