Before Antietam

He enlisted in Wilmington, DE on 18 April 1861 for three months and mustered on 2 May as a Private in Company A, 1st Delaware Infantry. He mustered out and reenlisted on 7 August 1861 for 3 years and mustered as a Corporal in the same Company on 19 August.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
