A farmer in Ashley County, he enlisted in Company K, 3rd Arkansas Infantry at Hamburg, Arkansas on May 20, 1861; transferred to Company L on September 20, 1861.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in the right side in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He transferred to Company A on September 25, 1862. He was paroled at Appomattox, Virginia on April 12, 1865.

After the War

In the 1880 US Census he was farming in Hunt County, TX. He died before the 1890 Census.
