He enlisted in Company C, 3rd Arkansas Infantry at Monticello, Arkansas on March 22, 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in the legs and captured in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
He was confined at Fort McHenry, Maryland until exchanged at City Point, Virginia on November 10, 1862. He was furloughed to Arkansas, but dropped from the rolls for being absent without leave on August 31, 1864.
