He was paroled at Fort McHenry, Maryland on October 14, 1862 and exchanged at Aiken's Landing, Virginia on November 10, 1862. He transferred to the Invalid Battalion, Army of Northern Virginia (date not given) and was paroled at Appomattox, Virginia on April 12, 1865.
