He was discharged for chronic diarrhea at Selma, Alabama on October 14, 1862. He enlisted in Company I, 53rd Alabama Regiment (Partisan Rangers) on January 10, 1863.

He filed Arkansas pension application #10123 from Pulaski County on August 19, 1902 - he was probably living in Little Rock at that time. He was in Marion, Drew County at the 1910 US Census.
