He was wounded in the left leg in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was discharged for chronic diarrhea at Selma, Alabama on October 14, 1862. He enlisted in Company I, 53rd Alabama Regiment (Partisan Rangers) on January 10, 1863.

Basic information from Howerton1. He was listed in Drew County in the 1860 US Census; occupation farmer; bought land in Drew county in 1860 and 1895. He filed Arkansas pension application #10123 from Pulaski County on August 19, 1902 - he was probably living in Little Rock at that time. He was in Marion, Drew County at the 1910 US Census.
