He was (probably mortally) wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was furloughed, and not heard from afterward. He was presumed dead by the Roll of January and February 1864, and dropped from the Roll by order of the Regiment's Commanding Officer.
