He was present with his Company at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was promoted to Quartermaster Sergeant of the Company (date not given). He was captured at Petersburg, VA on June 22, 1864, received at Point Lookout, MD from City Point, VA on June 30th. Paroled at Point Lookout and transferred, for exchange. Received at Coxes' Landing, James River, VA about February 15th, 1865, and exchanged. He was paroled at Meridian, MS on May 17, 1865.
