On the Campaign

He was wounded and captured in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was paroled September 27, 1862 and sent to Ft. McHenry, MD on October 13, 1862. Forwarded to Fortress Monroe, VA for exchange, and exchanged at Aiken's Landing, VA on November 10, 1862. By February 1864 he was listed as absent, detailed at Camp Moore, LA. By April 1864 he was declared a deserter, from as far back as 20 November 1862.
