He was a 30 year old single laborer in Donaldsonville, LA when he enlisted in Company C, 10th Louisiana Infantry on July 22, 1861 at Camp Moore, LA and was appointed 3rd Sergeant. He was reduced in rank to Private on August 31, 1861.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
