Before Sharpsburg
He enlisted in Company H, 8th Louisiana Infantry on June 19, 1861 at Camp Moore, LA.
On the Campaign
He was wounded and captured in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.
The rest of the War
He was sent to Ft. McHenry, MD on October 13, 1862. He was paroled, sent to Fortress Monroe, VA, and exchanged at Aiken's Landing, VA on November 10, 1862. He was absent for wounds to at least May 1863, and declared a deserter in August 1863, "last heard from in Mobile".
