He was a single 35 year old farmer in Flat Town, LA when he enlisted in Company F, 8th Louisiana Infantry on June 23, 1861 at Camp Moore, LA.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg and "left on the field".

The rest of the War

Reported wounded and missing after Sharpsburg, he appears on a Parole of Prisoners, dated Office of the Provost Marshal General, Army of the Potomac, September 27, 1862. The Company Roll for August 1863 lists him as mortally wounded at Sharpsburg.
