He was a 25 year old farmer living in Collinsburg when he enlisted in Company D, 9th Louisiana Infantry on March 5, 1862 in Bellevue, LA.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Sharpsburg.

The rest of the War

He was absent on furlough from wounds to August 1863, but listed as a deserter to Louisiana afterward. He was paroled at Shreveport, LA on June 19, 1865.
