He was an 18 year old farmer from Brush Valley when he enlisted in Company H, 9th Louisiana Infantry on 7 July 1861 at Camp Moore, LA. He was discharged on 2 August 1862, but reenlisted on 2 March 1862.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action on 17 September 1862.
