Before Antietam
A laborer in Easton, he enlisted in Company K, 2nd Massachusetts Infantry at age 23 on 11 July 1861. Wounded in the leg in action at Cedar Mountain on 9 August 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
The rest of the War
He never returned to his Company. Dropped from the rolls in August 1863.
