Before Antietam

He enlisted in Company A, 8th Ohio Infantry at age 22 on 28 May 1861.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was discharged 8 January 1863 on a Surgeon's Certificate of disability.

After the War

He went from Fremont to Lima in 1878 and was a machinist there. He was listed as still living there at the time of the Regimental Reunion at Gettysburg in September 1887.
