Before Antietam
He enlisted in Company A, 8th Ohio Infantry at age 25 on 11 June 1861.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action on 17 September 1862 at Antietam.
The rest of the War
He was wounded again, in action at North Anna River, VA on 28 May 1864, and afterward absent at the hospital. Mustered out with his Company on 13 July 1864.
After the War
He was an 84 year old widower living in Tiffin, OH at the 1920 Census.
